2022 BMW M4 Competition Convertible With M xDrive Revealed

For the 2022 model year, BMW recently revealed a new drop-top M4 variant. But the fabric-top model will only be available with the automaker’s Competition trim level and xDrive all-wheel-drive system. So BMW calls the catalog entry the M4 Competition Convertible with M xDrive.

A feature-specified beast, to be sure. It joins the 2022 8-Series Convertible that was announced, along with 2- and 4-door Coupe variants, earlier this spring. And the 2022 M3 and M4 Competition xDrive hardtops that were unveiled a few weeks ago.

Like the 2021 M4, the new M4 drop-top gets 503 horsepower out of its S58 six-cylinder dual-scroll engine. Like other Competition models, the M4 Competition Convertible with xDrive is loaded with the familiar eight-speed M Steptronic gearbox courtesy of ZF. No manual transmission is offered.

The M4 Competition Convertible with xDrive will be available in the last quarter of the year, and priced from $86,300.
