Theatrical rocker Gene Simmons put down his bass guitar long enough to sign on the line and take possession of this glassy newer modern in Nevada. The KISS founding member paid $8.2 million for the property last month. The home is located in Henderson, just outside Las Vegas. It sits on a .46-acre lot.

The interiors of this very contemporary modern residence measure in at 10,871 sq. ft. It’s a flashy living style, with textural overlap between natural stone, wood, steel and concrete, and effective use of color; the kitchens dashes of red stand out in relief against the grey and beige natural stone, and the neutral-toned cabinetry.

There’s a great deal of glass in the build. The home’s optional glass walls open at every opportunity to the outdoor living area, and the great room features a massive multi-pane glass face that overlooks the valley. The staircase is the focal point of the interiors, and boasts glass balustrades, and it is illuminated by another double-height expanse overlooking the landscape.

Although Simmons picked up a Malibu house with superb views in March for $5.8 million, his longtime main residence in Southern California remains for sale on the open market. The Beverly Hills estate entered the market last October at $22 million; a relist in March brought the price tag up to $25 million, but a recent price drop finds the 1.84-acre, 13,405 sq. ft. estate asking $19.995 million.

Simmons will be reaching for his trusty makeup kit in the not-too-distant future; KISS is slated to resume its End of the Road World Tour in August.
