New Celtics team member Tristan Thompson had little trouble selling his lakefront home in the Cleveland area. The former Cavaliers player put the house up for sale for $3.3 million in the winter of this year, and passed it to a new owner this spring in exchange for $2.5 million.
But the NBA star’s West Coast getaway in Encino, California, has yet to connect with a buyer. Thompson listed the home last summer for $8.5 million. A couple of months shy of the anniversary finds the property relisted with a trim that brings the price down to $7.9 million.
A newer build, the 9,864 sq. ft. modern farmhouse features the interior emphasis on textural variation and indoor/outdoor combination living that continues to charm buyers. On the first floor, the natural stone of the staircase and foyer tile sets up a sympathetic reflection with the living room fireplace; reclaimed wood in a herringbone pattern, wall covering, and natural-toned plank flesh out the thoughtful design style.
Amenities in this home include a double-island kitchen, a wet bar, a display wine room, a media room and an office.
