This month, vocal stylist Meghan Trainor put her Toluca Lake property up for sale for $5.95 million; it immediately attracted interest. The 1936-built house, which has been heavily renovated and reimagined as a modern farmhouse, comes with a unique provenance: it was originally the carriage house of Bing Crosby’s estate next door, according to Dirt. At 7,174 sq. ft., it has likely been liberally expanded.
The single-level design of this home allows for vaulted ceilings in many rooms. Ceiling trussing with hardware lends a rustic, barn-like feel to the living room and kitchen, while black steel-framed windows and interior French doors bring a touch of the contemporary. The kitchen also sports a large, bi-level island, with an elevated section for prep and a lower for snacking and AM coffee.
The five-bedroom’s backyard is a long stretch of lawn with a pool and patio, along with a line of fruit trees, a dining area, and guest cottages that are currently in use as studios filling out the available space.
Trainor’s debut album, titled Title, reached the top of the Billboard 200 chart. Her latest release is last year’s A Very Trainor Christmas.
