About two months after listing his 320-acre Colorado ranch for $39.5 million—the getaway estate landed on the open market in the late winter of this year—Tom Cruise has sold the property at ask, according to multiple sources citing the entry in San Miguel County’s public records.

Which would mark the sale as the end of an era. Cruise had the nearly 10,000 sq. ft. alpine lodge custom-built back in the early 1990s, and it was a labor of love requiring years of consideration for completion.

The house is a rustic-luxury vision, with plentiful cedar and natural stone used in the build. It contains seven bedrooms and nine baths, and living areas culminate in a great room with a massive stone fireplace. The main house is buttressed by a three-bedroom guest house. The acreage is the main draw, though, and the fact that it is bordered by federally-owned lands makes this retreat very private. The grounds feature an extensive system of hiking trails.

Cruise had initially entertained the idea of selling the place as far back as 2014. At that time, the estate hit the market in the late summer or early fall—with an ask of $59 million—and vanished again when it was not snapped up with alacrity.

Cruise’s films have grossed over $10 billion worldwide. His upcoming projects include Top Gun: Maverick, Mission: Impossible 7, and Mission: Impossible 8.
