If you’ve been waiting to buy a performance crossover or SUV, you may want to wait until Mercedes begins delivering the 2022 model year AMG 63 S variants. At some point in the fourth quarter of 2021, the Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 S will find its way to a dealership near you, and it packs the best performance of the GLC line into an SUV shape.
In keeping with the sporty nature of the upper end performance line, the GLC 63 S looks sculpted and very capable from the outside, with a dexterously trim back end. LED lighting brings some atmospheric flash to the appearance, and it comes outfitted with 20-inch wheels and AMG RIDE CONTROL+ with adaptive damping standard.
Inside the 2022 Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 S, a sportier steering wheel and seats are immediately evident. An augmented reality display comes standard. Optional trim sets available include the AMG Night, Aerodynamics, and Performance Studio packages, and the Exterior Carbon Fiber Package.
Propelling the GLC 63 S is AMG’s 4.0L biturbo V8, which in this case delivers up to 503 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. Its 0-60 time is identical to the coupe version of the model: 3.6 seconds, and Mercedes states the variant’s top speed is an electronically limited 174 MPH.
