With $341 million in pay in the works for a decade-long contract extension with the Mets, Francisco Lindor was in a buying mood pre-spring training. And so the shortstop shelled out $2.9 million for a charming residence outside Orlando in February—a couple of months before news of his mammoth contract became official.
The five-bedroom, seven-bath home is designed in the Mediterranean style and dates to 2017. Outside, it features many of the evocative details that give a home like this its regional atmosphere — in this case, stucco, tile, soft arches, wrought iron, and shutters.
Inside, the home’s 6,502 sq. ft. of living area is flavored with exposed beams—either reclaimed, or treated to look like it — as well as oak floors, and accents in timber and stone. The layout and concept is more contemporary, with the double-island kitchen, dayroom, dining room and family room in one continuous l-shaped space.
At .99 acres, the lot easily accommodates loggias, patios, lawns, a water feature, a casita, and a pool, spa and lanai overlooking the lake.
