Within months of closing on an incredibly slick modern in Miami Beach, Shutterstock founder Jon Oringer listed his outgoing East Coast waterfront escape: a modern-style trophy in the Hamptons. The 10,296 sq. ft. home appeared on the open market recently with an asking price of $52 million.
The eight-bedroom, ten-bath residence was designed by notable Long Island architectural firm of Barnes Coy; its exterior features glass, steel, and plank accents and decking that’s been weathered over the six years since the home was built. The layout includes a staff apartment and a master suite with an office and a terrace overlooking the water.
Also overlooking the water: an elevated, two-level outdoor living area that incorporates a zero-edge pool, a sunlounge, upper and lower patios; a staircase descends to ground level, where a sandy footpath traipses a meandering route beach-ward.
The home’s main living area conjures space by way of a long linear fireplace, and a wide-open great room; sliding glass doors in a glass wall open to merge the living room with the home’s setting. The living room transitions uninterrupted to the kitchen, which is clad in wood—floor, ceiling and walls—with a space designated for dining the only division between.
Among wet bar adds entertainment potential to the amenities list. Also included in the layout: a fitness room, a studio, and a spa area.
Oringer’s net worth is north of $1 billion.
