Bentley’s newest non-automotive lifestyle accessory is a couch upholstered in a very unusual fabric indeed. The textile is called MARM\MORE, and it is apparently a proprietary material owned by Italian company Limonta, who is currently marketing it with apparel, footwear and, yes, home interior applications.

The material is sustainable, according to the textile company’s website, and uses a base made from natural and recycled material. The marble powder used is chiefly by-product, one would expect, purposing the bits and dust of quarrying which would formerly have been consigned to the bin. The manufacturing process puts it inside the coating of the material, where it adds a glistening and tough dimension, and also waterproof, windproof and hard-wearing qualities.

Good news all for Bentley’s lifestyle branding project, which seeks to combine the luxuriously esoteric and literate under the aegis of the current watchword of responsible manufacturing: sustainability.

Other pieces in the collection include a desk and a table.
