Last summer, actor Will Arnett listed his unique modern in Beverly Hills Post Office with a $10.995 million asking price. It’s been nearly a year at this point since the property was offered by Arnett, and no buyer has emerged, and so back it goes onto the market with a price-pruning—and a big one at that. The relisting has the house asking $8 million on the nosey.
As the house is nestled at the terminus of a fairly long drive, the facade’s transparency gives a first impression of both generous openness and seclusion. The structure’s core is a high-end prefab, and this is, we believe, the side seen from the motor court: a glassy box with some dressing up through linear ornament and dark-stained plank siding, but otherwise preoccupied with form.
In back, the home’s architectural vocabulary expands, with line echoed in the industrial balustrade of the second floor terrace and the attached pergolas, and planar massing giving the impression of a joyously haphazard horizontal convergence. Inside the home, such cerebral warmth is given even more of the foreground, with a single stringer staircase, natural-toned plank floors, and thunderhead gray cabinetry in kitchen and other living spaces.
Outside, the amenities are interwoven nicely with ebullient landscaping; a bit of wild to surround the ponderous poured concrete retaining wall, the wraparound deck, the pool, and the sauna and spa.
Arnett lends his voice to computer-animated comedy Rumble, due out next year. Terry Crews, Tony Danza, and WWE’s Roman Reigns also star in the film.
