Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos listed this peach of a Malibu beach house only days ago, hanging a $14.9 million price tag on it and trusting to the almost-post-COVID warmth of the spring ’21 market to do the rest. That it did, as its new owner was charmed out of $14.73 million to take possession of it. The sale only took a couple of weeks to close.
The house sits on a 60’-wide La Costa Beach lot, and contains four bedrooms and four baths in its 3,763 sq. ft. of interiors. In back, a little courtyard with a pool and a cabana with a wet bar are positioned between the house and the PCH, an unusually broad buffer that enhances the lifestyle of this property.
The shared living spaces are arranged in a villa-like layout, with arched doorways giving room-to-room definition and a breezy feel to the common area. Multiple sets of French doors open to the outdoor deck, a pleasing change from the ubiquity of Fleetwood installations in a home of this caliber. A turret staircase and an indoor/outdoor dining spot are other highlights of the lower level.
Up top: the owner’s suite, which boasts a private balcony, a large bedroom with a fireplace, and a combination office and sitting room.
