Earlier this year, pop and R&B singer Rihanna sought out a rebuilt 1938 traditional in Beverly Hills, and closed on it to the tune of $13.8 million. The English Tudor-style is located in the Post Office neighborhood, and measures in a 7,628 sq. ft.

Sizeable, but a guest house (or two) was perhaps needed, so Rihanna settled on the property next door, and closed on that this spring according to Dirt; the acquisition required an outlay of $10 million, but added four bedrooms, 3,594 sq. ft. of interior living area and almost half an acre to what now stands as a compound estate.

The house is another period piece, but less aggressively revised. It was completed in 1939, and boasts period details that include leaded glass, arched French doors, and brick and oak plank floors. The living room features a marvelous cathedral ceiling, with original timber and iron.

Outside, a multi-level brick patio, a pool, and a dining and living area orients the fair-weather living style as definitively outdoors. A basketball half court, herb garden, vegetable garden, and guest house fill out the grounds.

Rihanna has sold over 250 million records worldwide. Her ninth studio album does not yet have an official release date.
