The latest residential real estate sale of Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi made for a short run on the open market. The Los Angeles-area property was listed initially in the late winter with a $53.5 million ask, and found a new buyer earlier this month, one willing to part with $47 million to acquire the property.

The DeGeneres-de Rossi collective themselves bought the majestic Beverly Hills estate from musician Adam Levine in the spring of 2019; they paid $45 million for the keys to the 1930s-built, 10,000 sq. ft. home.

Apart from some sprucing and perhaps some minor alterations to some rooms, a look at the then and now image sets from the two sales reveal few changes. The two kitchens—one in heavy stainless, the other with natural stone and herringbone floors—appear to have retained their look, and the office kept its dark-toned walls and contrasting fireplace surround. The home theater is one room that shows significant dressing up.

The outdoor living area of this estate is marvelous, with a layout and landscaping that makes the acre of available space feel very secluded and very large. A combination of rolling lawns, semi-forest and stone living area, it boasts an expansive tiered patio with an outdoor bar and kitchen, a pool, a fire lounge, a tennis court that once hosted former owner and ATP Tour great Pete Sampras, and a detached guest house.
