During the high summer of last year, Josh Schwartz purchased this modified 1952-built home in Sherman Oaks for $8.1 million. The Gossip Girl co-creator wasn’t destined to hold onto the home for very long, however. He’s turning the property around this spring. And so the two-acre spread known as the Alomar Compound returns to the market this year with a $6.85 million asking price.
The 8,667 sq. ft. house, which sits at a fairly far removed from the property’s gated entry and at the end of a curving drive—courtesy of a 2.3-acre lot size—doesn’t return to the market unmarked by its most recent owner. According to listing information, remodeling is underway, but the property is to be sold unfinished.
The grounds are turnkey, and aside from losing the volleyball net and fire feature in the sandy lower recreation area, arrive on the market prepped for a new owner. Large swaths of lawn, a pergola-capped kitchen and bar, a separate child-protected pool and poolhouse, and abundant patio space complete the outdoor living areas.
