The newest high-dollar smartphones from Russian accessory company Caviar use a block of gold for a casing. They call it the Goldphone, a propos of its rather direct approach to ornament.

Caviar’s back pages contain entries that include homages pop cultural and tech figures—phone designs for fans of the Fab Four and Steve Jobs—to the heavenly aspirations of the Solarius Zenith. Materials are generally precious and semi-precious, but these phones from their Gold Collection mark the firm’s first use of 999.9 gold.

While the arabesque-esque designs of the company’s Solid Gold Unique phones are more ornate, the kilo-weight gold bar design stands as their purest gilded offering. Production of the model is limited to seven examples each for the iPhone 12 Pro and Galaxy S21/S21+, priced at $159K and $169K, respectively.
