It’s been mere weeks since six-time NBA All-Star Amar’e Stoudemire listed his Florida estate on the open market. The property in Southwest Ranches appeared in the second week of February at $3.5 million, and was purchased by rapper Rick Ross early this month for…$3.5 million.
The grandiose 8,675 square-footer has enough style for several homes, and begins with a towering porte-cochere that sets a palatial sense of scale. Ornamental columns, oversized windows, a bell tower, and decorative flourishes also distinguish the exterior of this house.
Beyond the etched glass double door entry, the shared spaces begin with a glossy marble step-up foyer and a dome ceiling with chandelier. The living areas continue with a hardwood wet bar—with support posts rising to the 13- or 14-foot ceilings, an ornate fireplace, and a bank of windows overlooking the outdoor living area.
Wall covering, ceilings, and fixtures generally have something to say in the six-bedroom house, and pattern, millwork and design vary but are generally ornate. The kitchen’s a heavily stylized space, with a coffered ceiling transitioning to a family room with floor-to-ceiling built-in shelves. The master bedroom is huge, and features sliding glass access to the patio, outdoor kitchen, and pool area. A guest house takes a slice of the 2.3 acres of grounds.
Ross has released 10 studio albums. All have made it into the top 10 of the Billboard 200 chart, with five of them reaching the top spot. His upcoming studio album, Richer Than I’ve Ever Been, is expected to be released this year.
