Last October, after splurging over $14 million on a move to Austin, Texas, TV personality Joe Rogan listed his five-bedroom home in Bell Canyon, California. The home hit the open market with an asking price of $3.2 million, and, in a pleasant outcome for Rogan, sold considerably above ask, closing at $3.45 million according to public records.
The 1978-built, heavily-renovated house boasts interiors that measure in at 7,573 sq. ft. The two-acre lot is large enough for extravagance, and beyond the courtyard that is the home’s centerpiece lies an attached, elevated walkway that leads to the guesthouse, as well as lawns, raised plant beds, and a pool.
The interior of the main house begin with an antique or reclaimed double-door entry, a step-up foyer, and a landing that ends abruptly with French doors offering immediate access to the courtyard. But things really get rolling with the centerpiece to the sprawling, open living area: a floating circular staircase that stands like a sculptural installation at the center of the great room.
The main living area ends with the step-down kitchen, which is decked out with a large pewter-capped island, herringbone-pattern hardwood floors, a massive commercial fridge and a La Cornue range. Other amenities include a billiards room with a wet bar, an office with built-in shelving, and an upper-level master suite with a private sitting area—with fireplace—and outdoor terrace.
