Comedian, writer and actress Sarah Silverman listed this two-and-two condo in Los Angeles this week for $1.8 million. The unit is located in the Empire West building. According to public records, Silverman has owned the property since 2006.

Unpretentious and occasionally surprising, the residence’s style is pleasingly unaffected. The inside of the front door is painted a shocking shade of red—somewhere between cardinal and scarlet—and the renovated kitchen sports a custom tile floor in yellows and browns and an understated mosaic backsplash.

The living room is embellished with a subway tile-covered wall—brown, with the occasional long, bright red standout that suggests accident and hints at a color motif. The rest of the shared space is occupied by a dining room and lounge, with soft blue cabinetry and a nifty built-in reading nook.

The bedroom transitions to a walk-in closet and dressing room; the suite is completed by a bath with a large marble shower with glass walls. The outdoor terrace is just the spot for morning coffee or evening reflection—down-to-earth views of the city and local goings-on.
