NBA legend LeBron James took some time out from practice—and putting his mansion in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles up for sale—and assessed the new Hummer in a video this winter.
James likes exotic trucks—in fact, last October he got his hands on a Mercedes-Maybach G650 Landaulet, perhaps the most aristocratic of SUVs. Only 99 were produced, and the price tag was a weighty one: $750K. It makes sense, then, that he would be the new brand ambassador for the overhauled Hummer.
Among the features of the redesigned all-terrain truck is an EV drivetrain with three permanent-magnet asynchronous motors delivering a total of about 1,000 horsepower. An ‘Infinity’ roof, chassis camera system, and ‘Crabwalk’ diagonal movement mode also stir curiosity.
The revised sport utility truck will soon be in dealerships. James will be one of the first to see delivery of the ‘Edition 1’ production version next year.
