George Strait Offering Custom Build in San Antonio for $7.5M After Price Cut

Honky-tonk man George Strait listed his estate in the Lone Star State for sale this winter. The house in San Antonio is a Santa Fe style, and it measures in at nearly 8,000 square feet. Formerly priced at $10 million, it is now asking $7.5 million.

The home’s architecture finds inspiration in modern and pueblo styles, and features an extended covered entryway decorated with a quartet of vigas. The adobe exterior is soft, and has that weathered by the desert and prairie winds look that is immediately appealing. In back, the home blossoms into complexity, with an outdoor staircase leading up to a large second-floor terrace.

Inside the house, the style develops beautifully. Glossy timber ceilings, a host of sculpted and kiva fireplaces, the rounded and unique look of hand-applied plaster, pine floors, stained glass windows, copper bar, and carved wood threshold accents all make appearances in this intensely rustic, 1997-built stunner. The kitchen features a cupola skylight, a lovely flourish, and there are three suites in the home: one for owners, and two for guests.

The grounds measure about twelve acres, with a casita, a pool with mosaic tile, and various indoor/outdoor living areas complete a quick look at an extraordinary Texas estate.

Strait has sold more than 100 million records worldwide.
