The intensely rustic Rocky Mountain ranch of links legend and Americana buff Greg Norman is back. The property known as Seven Lakes Ranch first appeared in 2016 with a $55 million listing price. It was relisted in the spring of 2019, asking $50 million. It was subsequently further reduced to $40 million and seems to have seduced a buyer; it is current pending sale.
The property would make a nearly turnkey business for an enterprising sort. The acreage measures in at over 11,500, and there are twenty bedrooms on the property in all. The location—near Meeker, Colorado—includes extensive frontage on the White River, as well as forest and grassland, and miles of trails for riding, walking, and hiking.
The main house dates to the 1990s, and is designed in a hybrid log cabin/alpine chalet style. The living room is a knockout for lovers of the style, boasting a soaring cathedral ceiling, an antler chandelier, and a double-faced stone fireplace. A lounge with a stone fireplace and a full-length bar with brass stools and foot rail is another gem of this house. Seven guest cabins augment the accommodations, and the property is sold with full equestrian support facilities.
The estate isn’t the only one of Norman’s retreats to hit the open market in the last couple of years. His semi-tropical escape called Tranquility surfaced on the Florida real estate scene about a week ago, asking a little less than $60 million.
