Actress Gabrielle Union and retired NBA star Dwyane Wade recently relisted the Sherman Oaks Mediterranean contemporary they picked up for $6 million in 2018. The price reflects a break-even proposition on the property, which first hit the market last year with a $6.2 million price tag.
The house is a 2017 build, and occupies a lot of .75 acres; all together, a well-designed little estate that packs a large outdoor living area and a great deal of breathing room into a hillside location. Views are very fine.
The home’s interiors express familiarity and warmth with clean lines, an uncluttered feel, and abundant reflected light due to the bright white walls and ceilings. There’s a little bit of Scandinavian influence in the details, with arched windows giving the home a touch of Italianate. Fold-away glass walls are used in the build, opening the master to the balcony and views beyond it, and in the living room, which combines the indoor space with the outdoor living area.
The key amenities are outdoor—pool, outdoor kitchen with pizza oven, loggia, patio—but the home gets a few uptown standard features as well, including a home theater and a wine room.
The Wade-Union collective may be faring better on their waterfront estate in Miami Beach. That property first hit the market at $32.5 million in 2019; listing information states it is currently pending sale. The couple recently upgraded their West Coast accommodations to a $17.9 million home in Hidden Hills.
