Comedian and actor Dane Cook appears to be cobbling together a compound…or at least a guest property near his own. The property adds nearly half an acre to Cook’s Hollywood Hills spot overlooking the progression of nearby geological ripples, downtown Los Angeles, and the Pacific. It came at a price of $3 million.

But it also came with a house. A three-floor affair with half the upper floor devoted to a street-level garage, it measures in at 2,276 sq. ft., with three bedrooms and three baths in all.

Inside, parquet floors, soothing soft green walls, and a metallic partial accent wall inset with a three-sided gas fireplace are features of the shared spaces. The kitchen is a galley-style with white cabinetry and a two-seater snack bar. The library adds a pleasing dimension to the home, with floor-to-ceiling—almost—built-in bookshelves, and a two-sided stone fireplace that’s been painted in a darker shade of gray; look through the fireplace, and the home’s office comes into view.

The bedrooms are where this house shines, though. All are sizable, and feature access to the home’s broad balconies. The lion’s share of the outdoor living area is given over to a freeform pool and patio in brick.

Cook’s first comedy album, 2003’s Harmful If Swallowed, reached the number two spot on the US Comedy Billboard Chart. He subsequently released four chart-topping albums, the most recent being 2010’s I Did My Best: Greatest Hits Album.
