Ducati’s recent reveals for the upcoming model year foretells some exciting new bikes, and a few important revisions. Last month, we had a look at the Multistrada V4; the newest iteration of the crossover bike that debuted in the early 2000s looks more capable on- and off-road than ever. And earlier this month we examined the 1260 Diavel, a collaborative effort between the motorcycle giant and fellow VW Group acquisition Lamborghini.
But Ducati has also put considerable energy into redesigning one of its 1990s classics—the Monster, which first took to roads in 1993. For 2021, the bike has received a considerable revision.
Tops on the list of improvements is a new 937cc engine, which is more efficient than the outgoing model’s and delivers additional power to boot; the gas burner delivers 111 horsepower and 69 pound-feet of torque. The frame is ‘superbike derived’, according to Ducati. A new LED headlamp, hydraulic clutch, and Brembo brake system are a few of the other attractions for the buyer.
Colors for the new Monster include Ducati Red, Dark Stealth and Aviator Grey.
