Actress Scarlett Johansson’s Manhattan pied-a-terre is a new addition to the open market. The Upper East Side property listing appeared this month as a potential purchase and short-term rental too; a month in the condo will run you $6.5K, but its current owner will hand over the papers to it for $2.3 million.

The property is located in a 20-floor building in Sutton Place that dates to 1958. The condominium contains 189 apartments; Johansson purchased hers in the late 2000s.

A well-located, modestly sized apartment, the unit features bright white walls and ceilings, newer hardwood, track lighting, and a block glass divider wall. Much of the square footage—the property measures a whisker under 1,300—is occupied by the shared living space, which features floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors that open to a charming brick terrace. There are two en-suite bedrooms in the unit.

The kitchen and bathrooms have clearly been revised. The kitchen’s scheme is designed to make the area look a touch bigger; it uses grey-veined white marble and a little stainless, with glass-paned cabinet doors. The baths each receive an individual treatment; both are suitably flashy, but the master’s receives a soaking tub.

Another feature of the master is a lovely little solarium. This sunny bit of privacy transitions to the 500 sq. ft. terrace, which features vertigo-reducing planters atop the retaining wall, and offers both intimacy and Manhattan views.

Johansson’s real estate portfolio also includes a charming cottage located only 30 minutes from Manhattan. She paid $4 million for the property a couple of years ago.

Johansson’s upcoming projects include Black Widow, also starring Florence Pugh and Rachel Weisz, and computer-animated film Sing 2, also featuring the voices of Matthew McConaughey and Reese Witherspoon.
