Towering NBA talent Shaquille O’Neal’s estate is back this winter, and looks mightily attractive as cool weather gradually turns colder. Not least is the current price; the property’s ask now stands at $16.5 million. The house—which sits on three acres of land in Windermere, an affluent town in the Orlando area—first appeared on the open market in 2018 with a $28 million ask.
The estate sits on a waterfront lot overlooking Lake Butler. Shaq wanted it to be a recreational playground, and that’s basically what it is; the property features a waterpark affectionately named Shaqapulco, and at its heart is a massive swimming pool.
The house is no scale-slouch, of course, and boasts interior living spaces that measure in at over 30,000 square feet. The living style arises out of a blend of the grandiose and the laid-back, and the home’s flashy porte-cochere is tempered by a great deal of warmth. The great room is the stunner, and features a double-height ceiling with a wraparound second-floor gallery and a floor-to-ceiling fireplace accent wall in marble.
Amenities include a walk-in humidor, a home theater and an entertainment and lounge space with a wet bar. The grounds extend to three acres, and there is a summer kitchen, and a dock with a cabana, to enhance the sunny weather.
