Actor and musician Craig Robinson, who plays warehouse foreman Darryl Philbin on The Office, is the new owner of this modern-style single-level home in Tarzana. Robinson paid $2.6 million for the property; the sale closed at the end of November.

The house was completed this year. The exterior is reminiscent of a modern, with stone, steel and timber accents adding complexity.

Inside, the house is a thoroughgoing contemporary. The shared living spaces are designed in keeping with contemporary tastes—soft grey is used for the walls, the wide-plank oak floors have been given a matte finish, a wine storage room is a décor component, and the layout boasts good momentum of flow—and a few stunning details pop up.

The centerpiece of the main living area is the fireplace accent wall, a massive presence of dramatically figured marble. The choice of stone becomes a theme, though, and it pops up in the kitchen and the master bath as well.

Accommodations in this rambler: six bedrooms and eight baths in 4,639 sq. ft. Amenities on the nearly half-acre lot include a pool with jets, a spa, a fire pit, and a small, detached building which was, at the time of the sale, staged as a fitness studio.

Robinson’s upcoming pictures include Songbird, which also stars KJ Apa, Alexandra Daddario, and Demi Moore; it is due to be released this month. He is also slated to appear in fantasy film Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon alongside Kate Hudson.
