This fall, Olympic Gold Medal-winning snowboarder Shaun White sold the second of his two homes in Malibu. The property closed just before Thanksgiving; the selling price was $8 million on the nose.

The home was, at one time, part of a small compound White cobbled together in the Point Dume neighborhood. The professional athlete purchased the first of the properties in 2013, ultimately selling it early this year for $11.8 million.

The property to sell most recently was purchased by White in 2016. It is a traditional that was completed in the 1940s, and contains three bedrooms and two baths in its 2,164 sq. ft. of interior living space. The home features cottage design elements including tongue-in-groove ceilings, clerestory windows, and plank hardwood or stone tile floors. The master bedroom opens onto the outdoor living area.

Standout spaces in this house include the broad galley kitchen, which features contrasting gray subway tile and a breakfast nook with a window seat overlooking the water. The living area is open-concept, and boasts glass doors that open onto the patio and pool.

The property’s exterior is unusually fine. The house is set back toward the street, allowing for a long gradient of lawn to slope away toward the beach, with mature trees and privacy hedges bordering the lot. A covered terrace with a built-in grille and a two-bay garage with an electric vehicle charging station round out this idyllic smaller house in one of Malibu’s best neighborhoods.
