Billionaire Ali Koç has a new place to hang his hat during jaunts to Los Angeles. The fellow’s new $14.5 million home is located in the Bird Streets neighborhood above Sunset, and was completed earlier this year.

The contemporary modern is a dazzler, no double about it. Material flourishes include book matched figured stone and hardwood, and its 10,016 sq. ft. of interior living space flows through a series of wide-open common areas and amenities. Vanishing glass walls open up the shared spaces and bedrooms to superb panoramic views of the city.

Details include an atmospherically lit floating staircase, naturally-toned plank hardwood, and a series of in-wall gas fireplaces that includes a massive unit in a marble accent wall in the entertainment space on the lower level. Other amenities include a main wet bar with a glass-encased wine display, a home theater, a home gym, a creative workspace, and a gourmet kitchen with a stone waterfall island and custom floor-to-ceiling cabinetry.

The home contains five bedrooms, making its layout ideal for a socially active lifestyle. The master occupies the entire upper level, and features a private wet bar, a sitting area, a fireplace, a large walk-in closet and dressing room, a marble-clad bath, and a glass wall that retracts to combine the interior lounge with the exterior, where a spa and fire pit overlook the city.

The Koç clan counts six billionaires in its fold and is arguably Turkey’s most powerful family. According to Reuters, their business holdings accounted for as much as 10% of the country’s output in 2016.
