Less than two months elapsed between the listing of Seth Rogen’s period Spanish-style in the Hollywood Hills neighborhood and the property closing. The house hit the open market in early October with an asking price of $2.125 million, and sold recently for the same amount.
The buyer is lucky. One of the more richly detailed and charmingly eccentric houses we’ve seen lately, the home’s ornamental tile-heavy recessed entry, with its stained glass pendant light fixture, is a pretty accurate metaphor for the living style.
Most of the action takes place in the exterior living area of the property, where a koi pond with a waterfall, a brick patio with bench seating and a fire feature, a fireplace, a covered porch, and a brick courtyard with a grill station and a covered, elevated dining area are ensconced within tropical landscaping.
The interiors comport themselves extremely well, too, of course; rooms include a youthful and unpretentious kitchen, and a living room with a barrel ceiling, stenciled trim, and arched French doors opening to the outdoor living areas.
Rogen’s latest film, An American Pickle, was released earlier this year. He voices Santa Claus in the upcoming series Santa Inc., and Allen the Alien in the upcoming Invincible.
