This month, retired NFL wide receiver-turned-coach Hines Ward sold this home in Georgia, his home state. Hines had owned the 2017-built golf-community home in Milton since the fall of 2018.
The house is a modern English cottage-style with a little storybook, in the form of mildly flared eves. The exterior is simple and a bit dramatic, with black trim on an otherwise blazingly white treatment.
Inside, the house is contemporary, and more than a little flashy, with glossy stone tile floors, a three-sided gallery with a wrought-iron balustrade looking down over the foyer, and a pleasing mix of soft arches and angularity helping to express the interior architecture. Other details include an in-wall gas fireplace and hand-blown fixtures in the common areas.
The grounds overlook the 11th hole of the course, and feature a spa-like pool area with a patio and ambient lighting. A whitewashed brick fireplace complements the outdoor living-and-lounging area, which is surrounded by a heavy border of privacy landscaping.
