With his Westlake Village estate in the rearview—the home closed for $4.5 million, its asking price, within a day of listing earlier this fall—glam-metal rocker and Poison frontman Bret Michaels quickly set his sights on a quieter, even more secluded property in Southern California, plunking down $4.8 million for a half-acre spot in the Oaks of Calabasas gated community.
The purchase brings Michaels back to a familiar stomping ground; he purchased a home in the community around the middle of the last decade, paying $3 million and letting it go two years later for $3.4 million.
The new Michaels estate’s set of private gates provide additional privacy, augmenting the guard-gated entry to the Oaks of Calabasas community, and that was certainly a key selling point for the rock musician. Other details about the property that caught his eye included the panoramic views from the half-acre hilltop lot, and the luxurious but manageable size of the home: 6,000 sq. ft.
The larger lot size also allows for a more luxurious sense of outdoor space, and the grounds feature a pool and a gazebo; the outdoor living area also features lawns and landscaping designed to highlight the vistas.
Poison has sold over 45 million records worldwide. Michaels has also release five solo albums, including the chart-topping Custom Built.
