Rob Lowe’s greater Montecito residence may be in the actor’s rearview, but last month found him back in Montecito taking ownership of a three-bedroom cottage in the seaside community in Santa Barbara County.
The property must’ve cast a spell because Lowe paid $5.2 million against the $4.95 million ask the 4,275 square-footer was tagged with when it surfaced on the open market in September. The interiors of the home feature a few surprises, including Spanish Oak Saltillo which appears to be original, as well as oak plank and, in the ground-floor master suite, a kiva-style fireplace.
The home’s interior amenities include a library, but the location is unusually fine, a hilltop lot with ocean and mountain views that extends to nearly an acre, and that represents a major component of the property’s allure.
Following the $46 million sale of his estate in Montecito, Lowe picked up another house—a $3.8 million modern in Beverly Hills.
