Media personality Ben Shapiro listed his Los Angeles-area ranch this fall with a $2.9 million asking price. According to public records, the author and political commentator has owned the Spanish-style home since 2015, when he paid around $1.7 million for it. It is called Stone Ranch, and has been designated a historic home.
The Valley Village residence was constructed in the 1930s, and retains much of the charm of its era despite renovations. Original details include kiva-style fireplaces in the living room, master bedroom and office, open ceilings with dark-stained timber, and Saltillo tile inside and out.
The outdoor living area is the chief amenity, a sprawling series of connected tile patios, and courtyards, with lush gardens and mature tropical plantings offering a romantic feel. But the master suite is a close second, a bright and optimistic space that occupies a generous amount of the upper level and includes a bath with a make-up niche and a bath with original tile. A guest house completes this .6-acre property.
