Rock-and-roller Tommy Thayer sold his Lake Sherwood home this fall. The property—located in Westlake Village—had been owned by the KISS guitarist for about twelve years when it closed earlier this month for $2.7 million. Thayer initially listed the property in 2015, with little success; he tried again in the spring of this year.
The mixed Mediterranean-style dates to 2005. Its exterior design features a tile roof, a turret, and stone accents. Inside the home, beige earth tones are the rule of thumb, with period-style fixtures and fireplaces. Highlights of the house include the floor-to-ceiling stone accent wall, the upstairs library and office, a barrel ceiling, and the second-floor terrace overlooking the lake.
The master suite features a brick-faced gas fireplace; there are four bedrooms in all in this 4,500 square-footer. Outdoor living spaces include a fireplace lounge.
Thayer joined Kiss’ lineup as the Spaceman in 2002, replacing original lead guitarist Ace Frehley. The band subsequently released two well-received studio albums: 2009’s Sonic Boom and 2012’s Monster.
