Danny Elfman and Bridget Fonda have listed two adjacently located homes in the Los Angeles area for sale this fall. The residences are located in the Hancock Park neighborhood.

The larger of the two homes—an 8,346 sq. ft. Italian Renaissance villa priced at $8.8 million—has been the couple’s main residence for two decades. The house was constructed in the late 1930s and sports a wealth of period details that accumulate into an intoxicating Golden Age fantasy, from the ornate decorative entry to the various and sundry original details of the interiors.

Spanish Oak tile and inlaid hardwood floors, Italian plaster, sandstone, exposed beams, carved stone and marble fireplaces, period light fixtures, and a stenciled ceiling are a few surprises that pop up by turns in the interiors. Amenities include a screening room, a music studio, and a splendid courtyard.

The other house concerned is a home the couple picked up about thirteen years after buying the first, updated, and put to work as a guest house and a privacy buffer; the property raised the size of the grounds to over an acre. It’s a flat-roofed Prairie-inspired home that originally went up in 1916, according to listing information.

This house measures 4,238 sq. ft. and contains four bedrooms, as well as a shared living area with a sunken bar and a stone fireplace; décor daringly blends alpine rustic, rock-star glam, outlandish cottage and midcentury, with some striking use of primary colors. It is priced at $5.8 million.

Fonda starred in The Godfather Part III alongside Al Pacino and Diane Keaton. Elfman, a multi-talented film composer, has many notable scores to his credit, including the one for 1989’s Batman.
