Mercedes-Benz revealed pricing information and updates for the 2021 E-Class range this week. Aside from a brush-up and general revising of exterior components, including the addition of standard LED headlamps, new back lights and AMG cladding, the news is essentially feature-related.
Like other recent Mercedes reveals for the upcoming model year, the company statement trumpeting the new E-Class puts the new MBUX infotainment system with Voice Control at the top of the list of features. The new E-Class’s driver assistance suite includes Active Emergency Stop, Steering Assist, Blind Spot assist and cruise control.
Engine variations include a turbocharged 3L inline six-cylinder with EQ Boost—for the E 450 4MATIC—and a turbocharged 2L inline four for the E 350 and E 350 4MATIC; the six produces 362 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, the four 255 HP and 273 lb-ft. The E 350e’s hybrid drivetrain produces 315 HP and a considerable 516 lb-ft of torque. At the top of the heap is the E 63 S, which is powered by a 603-HP V8. All models come with the 9G-TRONIC automatic gearbox. The series also includes the E 53, which produces 429 horsepower and 384 pound-feet of torque.
Pricing for the 2021 E 350 begins at about $54K; the E 63 S starts at about $108K.
