Back in the summer of 2016, comedienne Kathy Griffin closed on this 13,377 sq. ft. villa in Bel-Air. The acquisition foreshadowed Ms. Griffin’s sale of her 8,100 sq. ft. Hollywood Hills mansion—called Wings—which surfaced on the open market in the autumn of 2016 with a $5.5 million ask, ultimately selling for $4.5 million a little over a year later.
Now Griffin’s Bel-Air home enters the market once again. The asking price is $16 million.
The interiors of the villa do not appear to have been revised in any major way. That’s well and good; the home’s tasteful blend of dark wood, soft arches, glossy stone tile, off-white walls and ceilings, and breezy Mediterranean-inspired design sensibility remain. Changes include a judicious revision to the living room fireplace, a few new pendant light fixtures, and a kitchen that’s been brightened up significantly.
Amenities in the home include a wet bar, a master suite with a 1,100 sq. ft. private balcony, and a theater. The lot is substantial for Bel-Air—nearly two-thirds of an acre, with a pool, a pool house and a pavilion among the exterior features of this secluded property.
Griffin’s latest special was last year’s Kathy Griffin: A Hell Of A Story. The film, which centers on the fallout of her controversial photo shoot, was turned down by every television network and streaming service.
