Retired NFL player Chris Canty’s estate in Northern New Jersey hit the open market this summer with an asking price of $3.99 million. The brick home was custom built in 2008, and features a looming façade with a double-staircase front entryway and a soaring, column-supported portico above the double doors and large multi-pane clerestory that illuminates the foyer.
Inside the home, an open feel prevails. Blazing white walls and ceilings are augmented with mid-toned hardwood floors and trim. The great room is a beaut, with a two-story ceiling and a fireplace flanked by sets of French doors capped with fanlight clerestories. The den is far more intimate, with a fireplace and sets of casement windows overlooking the property; it is mirrored in the master’s private sitting area. A theater and a billiards room number among the amenities.
The grounds are tree-shaded and private, with a large lawn occupying much of the rear of the property.
Canty won Super Bowl XLVI with the Giants over the Patriots in 2011.
