Two years have elapsed since Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler first listed their bucolic little estate outside Nashville for sale on the open market. The ex-couple had hoped to see an offer in the neighborhood of $8 million, but in the end it was $3.7 million that sealed the deal.
Unfortunately, the sale price represents a more than $1.5 million loss from the ex-couple’s 2012 purchase price. But Cavallari and Cutler are currently engaged in a divorce, and they may have appreciated any remotely acceptable resolution to the collective problem of a two-year stretch on the open market of a former home.
The house has much to commend it. It sits on almost nine acres of forested acreage, and offers its new residents 20,000 sq. ft. of interior living space. The home’s architecture mixes European styles into an appealing amalgam, and the living style is refined casual, with semi-gloss plank floors, rusticated stone, and hardwood paneling among the details.
Amenities include a lavish entertainment complex with a wet bar, a media room, and a lounge, and a library with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves. Outside, a covered living area with a fireplace, a loggia, and a screened-in porch offer fair weather options for relaxation.
