Maserati’s Trofeo—‘trophy’—performance-car lineup has been expanded for 2021 to include new models, including the entry-level Ghibli. The Trofeo grade is also extended to the mid-sized Maserati performance sedan, the Quattroporte.
Both sedans join the Maserati SUV, the Levante, in offering the performance-oriented upsell package as an option. The included features of the Trofeo grade begin with the Ferrari-sourced 3.8L V8, which pumps out up to 580 horsepower and 538 pound-feet of torque; an eight-speed automatic delivers the energy.
This is great news for anyone who has considered owning the Ghibli, which comes with a base price of just $75K; the Trofeo package will add a chunk to the sticker, but the proposition will still come in as a reasonable entry fee to climb behind the wheel of your very own trident-badged sedan—one with a top speed of 202 MPH. The look is decidedly sporty, with hood outlets, a black grille, and carbon fiber trim.
The Quattroporte gets a nearly 10% boost in horsepower over the already available GTS package; 580 ponies can be had. It can also hit 202 MPH.
Interior trim on the Trofeo models includes higher-quality leather, and Trofeo badging and embossing. Carbon fiber is featured as an accent material, and tech is improved with larger and/or better quality touchscreens.
Pricing and delivery information for the 2021 Trofeo lineup is TBA.
