Mercedes-Benz X-Class Displays Yachting Aesthetic Thanks to Carlex Design

Polish tuning shop Carlex revealed a new project recently: A Mercedes-Benz X-Class which a client wished to convert into a nautical-inspired landlubber.

Carlex has a dedicated division for passenger trucks—Pickup Design—who take on projects like this one, which is called the Yachting Edition. The overall look is undeniably Carlex, of course; the approach is a kind of synopsis of luxury car design elements past and present. Carlex’s creatives like two-tone paint jobs, and this X-Class receives a glossy white foundation with cocoa-brown upper section and trim.

The interior is decked out with a blend of figured hardwood, Alcantara and leather, and the color scheme is two-tone as well, but with black and brown instead of white and brow. Wood pops up again in the truck bed, which sports a plank bottom that overtly suggests the nautical.

If you’re interested in Carlex’s previous yacht-inspired projects, have a look at the Mercedes-AMG G63 Yachting Edition the company unveiled this spring.
