Academy Award-winning actor Geena Davis’ villa in Pacific Palisades has arrived on the open market with a $5.995 million asking price. The 1999-built Mediterranean-style has much to commend it, including a wealth of details that begins with the exterior color scheme and stained-glass fanlight over the front door and continues throughout the home.

The capper of this 5,146 square footer’s interiors is certainly the remarkable living room fireplace, which is surrounded by a carved relief of a…Celtic demon? Perhaps. In any case, a fire in that gaping maw would certainly set an intense atmosphere in the room. Dark, hand-grooved, narrow-plank hardwood floors, Italian tile, and many a set of French doors are other details of this five-bedroom house’s interiors.

Amenities include a safe room, an office and gym, and a recently revised kitchen sporting some very nice colors indeed—cool tones, including pattern tile backsplash and hood trim—as well as what appears to be a floor in original terra-cotta tile. The dining room is a gem, entirely liberated by the sets of French doors that offer transition to the exterior living area.

The grounds extend to nearly half an acre. This is a private and romantic spot, and the landscaping errs on the side of the wild look; the garden sets an atmosphere that suggests the secret—that is, the soon-to-be discovered—and the sense of the fantastic that is its preamble.

Davis has taken home Oscar statuettes for her acting work in The Accidental Tourist, and her humanitarian work generally. She also starred Thelma & Louise, and the cult film Beetlejuice.
