About a year and a half ago, Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez took this beachfront home in Malibu off the hands of Jeremy Piven for $6.6 million. Piven had the property on and off the market for two years, and initially had hopes of an offer in the neighborhood of the initial $10.5 million ask. By the time J-Rod came along, the ask had dropped to $8.5 million.
Now it’s the power couple’s turn to list the heavily renovated 1949-built beach house, and it so once again it surfaces on the high-end SoCal market, this time with an asking price of $7.99 million. The three-level home’s interiors measure 4,400 square feet; they feature a gated entry with a trellis for a suitably laid-back prologue.
The shared living areas are bright and airy, as expected, with an open-concept layout that is occasionally loft-like. Plentiful glass—including a series of sliders—takes in the scenery, and presents opportunity to relax on the decks and terraces. The master suite is located on the top floor, and features a large bath with a soaking tub. Amenities in the house include a little theater and a dance studio.
The Lopez and Rodriguez collective is never out of the real estate news for very long at a spell. Their notable purchases in the last couple of years include a 4,000-square-foot condo at 432 Park in Manhattan, for which they shelled out $15 million. They’ve since sold the unit.
Lopez’s films have grossed in excess of $3 billion. Rodriguez signed record-breaking contracts with the Rangers and Yankees at $252 million and $275 million during his playing days.
