Retired professional baseball player Adrian Gonzalez has a new home in Los Angeles this summer. The former Dodgers first baseman dropped $4.4 million for the contemporary in upper Beverly Grove. The house spans 5,000 square feet, with five bedrooms, six baths, and an open concept shared living area in its two floors of interiors.

The first floor is an open plain front to back, with living, dining and kitchen space in the rear, and illuminated by floor-to-ceiling glass; the house opens via retractable glass to the outdoor living area. Dark wood and grays set the tone of the living style, and near the entrance a little wet-bar stands sentry for guests. Other amenities include a home theater and smart features.

The outdoor space is dominated by a covered hardwood deck with a fire feature. A knockout space, and one that makes the living area a feat of engineering, as the pool and water feature manage to be fitted in, puzzle-like; the result is a romantic spot with abundant atmosphere.
