A few weeks ago, Seattle Mariners team member Felix Hernandez decided that spring of 2020 was the right time to pitch his craftsman-inflected mixed architectural in Clyde Hill, Washington. Hernandez made it a fastball; the property, which was asking $7.8 million when it hit the open market earlier this month, is now pending sale.
The 2014-built house features a façade dominated by a dramatic, recessed, stacked stone entryway that culminates in a double door entrance. Once inside, the home’s semi-open shared living space unfolds with a great deal of flash. It’s heavily stylized, most forcefully with a glitzy concept accent wall in a jigsaw-puzzle pattern, which is inset with a stainless gas fireplace. Other notable details include the kitchen island, which features an attached waterfall breakfast/snack bar in a highly figured stone veneer.
The 7,131 square foot residence contains six bedrooms and eight baths. Amenities include a screening room, gym, studio, office, and games room. The exterior features a pool and spa, and a living and dining area with grill station.
