Fox News journalist Bret Baier listed his D.C. mansion for sale this month. The asking price for the 10,668 square foot home in the Phillips Park neighborhood is $7.9 million.
The contemporary Colonial was constructed in 2013. It features a rusticated stone exterior, and a neoclassical pediment entry with a pair of support columns.
The home’s interiors begin with stone floors, a double-height combination foyer and great room, and a central staircase opening up the house. A series of clerestory windows illuminates the space.
The home’s traditional style includes a formal dining room; a marble wet bar is squirreled away in a galley, with a glass door opening to the living room. The kitchen comes off as appealing, with a large central island and a herringbone-pattern tile stove backsplash, as does the home’s office/library room, which features a series of built-ins, and is given a soft blue-gray treatment.
There are five bedrooms and five baths in the home; of the bathrooms, two are powder rooms. Each of the en-suite bedrooms has been given an individual treatment; one, in gray with a white accent stripe and a concept ceiling, is particularly fine, and there are two guest suites on the fourth level. The home’s amenities include a home theater, a gym, an elevator, and a sports court.
There are two garages on the property.
