NFL star Reggie Bush listed this estate in Pacific Palisades late last summer. He sold the home for $7.38 million this month.

Bush’s  initial ask for the property was $9.99 million. According to public records, he paid $7.75 million for the house in the spring of 2014. Ouch.

The modern was constructed in 1965, but a complete revision has left the property a contemporary, one that blends current fashion in modern designs and Asian sensibilities. The interiors feature strongly expressed modern lines, and lots of tough angles, but they also show a lush, stylized treatment that employs beautifully figured hardwood floors and, most interestingly, cane-covered ceilings. The front door is a statement in and of itself, a massive pivoting portal, ponderous with marble.

There are five bedrooms and six baths in the home. The count includes the master, which boasts an optional glass wall that opens to allow access to a wrap-around terrace. Views from the property are marvelous, and highlighted by a peculiar stone lounge with a fire feature that looks more sculptural that comfortable, but all in all succeeds in its designer’s quest to simultaneously suggest the futuristic and the primeval.
