Hot on the heels of its at-a-loss relisting of last month, the resort-community property of Sylvester Stallone has sold. The property—which had been unfinished business of sorts for Sly, as the writer and actor had been keen to see it go to a new buyer since 2014—re-entered the market last month at $3.35 million; when an offer of $3.12 million came in, Stallone accepted.
He bought the home in La Quinta, California, for $4.5 million in 2010. Far from an ideal outcome, but at a certain point, and within reasonable limits, a sale is a sale.
The house is designed in a romantic fashion in keeping with the La Quinta lifestyle—it’s a period fantasy in the Spanish style. Materials, accents, and fixtures all contribute to carrying off the fantasy, with candle and lantern sconces, stucco and tile, wrought iron and exposed timber all greeting the eye. Exterior living spaces include an indoor/outdoor dining room, and a half-acre lot that packs in some fine tropical or semi-tropical landscaping, as well as a pool, spa, and fire pit.
