Actor Rick Schroder—who, as a young fellow, took home a Golden Globe for his role in 1979’s remake of The Champ, before going on the star in NBC’s ‘Silver Spoons’—has owned this home for well over a decade. He took a crack at selling it a couple of years ago, but no soap. The property is back midway through 2020, asking $5.375 million.
Schroder bought the property in the winter of 2007, paying $5.1 million for it, according to public records. The home—a bungalow—was built in 1975.
The interiors are classic beach cottage. The shared space in the 1,250 square-footer is open concept, with a tongue-in-groove ceiling and plank oak floors. A galley kitchen with a long breakfast bar and an in-wall fireplace begin the space, which progresses toward its ultimate expression: a lengthy window seat overlooking Las Flores beach, and plentiful outdoor deck space. A total of 42 feet of frontage are deeded.
There are three bedrooms and two baths in the home. The master features a retractable glass wall that opens the room to its balcony deck. The outdoor living space is quite expansive, with upper and lower decks, and a spa.
